Arcade Fire's new music video is designed to make audience re-live there childhood memories, they do this by converging a normal music video with the internet/web 2.0 and the lyrics in the song relate to the whole feeling when watching this. By converging the two this allows the audience to see a video of there old childhood street.
The audience would type there post code in too the website www.thewildernessdowntown.com, wait for it too load and then the video begins.
The video follows a character running through a steet and shows various shots of the character. Other pop ups begin to pop up in the timing of the song's beat, with different parts of footage that all fits in with the miss-en-scene of the main video with the main character. After a while you see that the character is running in the area where you had entered your post code befor, the main character begins to spin around in the circle this confirms that the main character appears to be down the road where you had entered the post code befor, this is the main feature of the video and when the audience is more focused than befor because it relates to them. The video continues with the main character running away, but in a cartoon form, this relates to the lyrics of the song. The other popups begin to dissapear but one remains up, this is where it allows the audience to write a postcards to them self, and if so they can actually send it too them, this plays a big part in the whole idea of that the audience are able to reminise on there childhood memories.
